Play Date: Warby Parker Goes To the Movies….

I am toying around with the idea of getting new glasses for a few months now.  While I love my current frames, it has been two years which is the equivalent of a decade in fashion years, so I am itching to find a new pair.  A creature of habit, I am placing my search in the capable hands of the eyeglass gurus at Warby Parker.

Warby Parker is my online destination for finding stylish, retro frames at amazing prices (seriously $99!).  Last time around, I played around with trying on their frames in my bathroom but figured I would not subject you to my best “Blue Steel” gazes.  Rather, I have been feeling a bit inspired by the Oscars as of late and thought it would be fun to match up my top three frames with Best Picture contenders, so here we go….

Eyeglass Style: Cromwell Sunglasses

Movie: Zero Dark Thirty

The Cromwell sunglass frame instantly reminds of the military due to its classic aviation styling.  I feel bad ass in these frames, like I could take out a whole terrorist cell and still be home in time for cocktails.

Eyeglass Style: Pelham Obsidian

Movie: Lincoln

These frames make me feel studious, intellectual and grounded.  These are seriously some presidential-caliber frames.  I love their matte metallic finish and the slightly elongated style….

Eyeglass Style: Roosevelt

Movie: Silver Linings Playbook

Well there is nothing foul about these glasses. I heart them like I heart puppies, Bradley Cooper’s scruff and ice cream.  Preferably, I would like see all three of these combined in my bedroom, but a boy can dream.  Okay back to the glasses – a touch of retro, a tad oversized but just the right about of funk.  I love these, but then it may be because I own a pair already in tortoise.

So should I invest in sunglasses, wire frames or stick with my tried and true?  Decisions.  Decisions.  But then at $99, I could buy all three and still be  under budget from the last glasses I bought at an optical store!
