Weekend DIY: Fish Scale Art

Fish scales are normally a messy thing.  They stick to everything and are a chore to clean up.  However, Tina of the blog Signed by Tina may find them differently.

Inspired by the repetitive nature of the scales, she created a large-scale art piece out of black vinyl that is sexy, textural and just too cool….

I love the texture and movement in the piece.  Reimagined in faux ostrich or suede, it would make a stunning headboard.  But hey, it is pretty darn awesome as simply an art piece.  Click here for a step-by-step tutorial from Tina on how to created the piece.  Go forth and craft my friends!  Alas there will be no crafting for me this weekend, as I need to buckle down and create some long overdue design/inspiration boards for anxious clients.

Have a GREAT weekend!
