Last night, I found myself overwhelmed and a bit panicked by the week that lay ahead. Client emails were piling up from the weekend and a growing sense of anxiety was building. Why the stress? Who really knows since this week was no different from any of the other weeks that I had work and personal demands that pulled me in dueling directions. One of my personal resolutions was not to allow myself to be paralyzed by fear. Running your own business is scarier than I had ever thought and there are moments where I am the proverbial deer in the headlights. Too scared to move out of the way of the speeding car, knowing full well that my lack of a decision will lead to immense amounts of angst (and pain) in the very near future.
So this year, I am promising myself to not be ruled by my inaction. Sometimes the only (and best) thing to do in the face of fear is to point yourself towards the “monster”, place one foot in front of the other and move forward. Because sometimes the “big bad” isn’t so bad after all, but it’s your choice of how to deal with it that causes you the most pain….
With that said, I am off to start my day…..
